What Reiki is

Reiki is a Japanese practice of energy healing. You lie fully clothed on a treatment table and I place my hands lightly on or just above your body, working through a sequence of positions.

What most people notice is temperature changes, a feeling of relief and deep relaxation.

I trained in Usui Reiki Levels 1 and 2 with Daphne Latzelsberger in New Zealand.

What people come for

There is no wrong reason. These are the ones I hear most:

Burnout

Running on empty and unable to switch off, even when you have time to.

Big decisions

A move, a job, a relationship.

Grief

Loss, heartbreak, or the anniversary of something. Somewhere to put it down for a while.

Sleep

Lying awake at 3am. Reiki will not cure insomnia, but it can loosen its grip.

Physical fatigue

Recovery, long illness, or a body that has been asked to do a lot lately.

Nothing in particular

For when you just want an hour of rest.

Reiki is a complementary practice. It sits alongside medical care, it does not replace it, and I will always say so if I think you need a doctor rather than a treatment.

Sessions & pricing

60 minutes

$100

Sessions run by appointment, usually weekday evenings and Sunday mornings. If those times do not work, message me and I will try my best to find a time that works for you.

Your session, start to finish

You arrive and we sit down for five minutes. You tell me as much or as little as you want about why you came. Nothing you say leaves the room.

Then you lie down on the treatment table, fully clothed, with a blanket if you want one. I work through a sequence of hand positions, mostly resting lightly on or just above you. You do not have to do anything at all.

Questions

Do I need to believe in it for it to work?

No. You do not need to believe anything or do anything. Plenty of people arrive sceptical and simply enjoy an hour of deep rest, which is a perfectly good outcome on its own.

Do I take my clothes off?

No. You stay fully clothed the whole time. Wear something comfortable you can lie down in.

Will you touch me?

Lightly, and only where you are comfortable. Some hand positions hover just above the body instead. I will ask before we start and you can change your mind at any point.

How many sessions will I need?

You can come just once, for a particular moment or decision - or you can come more frequently for a deeper treatment.

What if I cry?

It happens, more often than you would think, and it is welcome. There are tissues and there is no rush.

Can I book Reiki for someone else?

Yes, as a gift. Email me and I will sort it out.

What if I need to cancel?

Let me know more than 48 hours before and I will move your session or refund you, whichever you prefer. Inside 48 hours the room is booked and the time is held for you, so the session is not refundable.
